El Dorado wins in tournament

El Dorado's Lady Wildcats gave new coach Corey Smith a nice house warming gift Monday as they pounded Star City 46-31 in the Heavenly Hoopfest at Mount St. Mary's. The season opener was Smith's first as El Dorado's head coach.
The Lady Wildcats were in control from the outset, leading 12-9 after one quarter and 22-16 at the half.
Alecia Williams led El Dorado with 12 points. Henderson State University signee Krystal Herring scored eight and K.K. Woods dded seven with 11 rebounds.
Tammy Thornton scored 14 for Star City.
