TCU is East? Right

I just heard on ESPN that TCU has agreed to join the Big East in all sports.
Does geography mean nothing anymore? Why don't we just throw all the maps away?
There's nothing about TCU that says East. Fort Worth Texas? East?
I admit, I was hoping TCU would join the Southeast Conference. No, it's not exactly in the Southeast but at least it's in the South. That's half right, right?
TCU makes as much sense in the Big East as Louisiana Tech does in the WAC (Western Athletic Conference).
With La. Tech in the WAC, it plays most of its games in a totally different time zone. The Bulldogs had a big win at San Jose State on Saturday night. Guess when it got in the newspaper? Yeah, Monday.
It's impossible for us to cover Louisiana Tech anymore because their road games end well after our deadline. I would imagine it's also near impossible for La. Tech's fans to follow their home school on the road to say, Hawaii or any of the California schools.
Why would a school join a conference where it geographically does not belong? Money? Okay, I wonder how much money La. Tech spends sending its volleyball and soccer and softball teams to Hawaii for games.
In case you've already thrown away your map, folks, you can't get to Hawaii from Ruston by bus.
Remember in the good, old days when the conferences were divided up into regions. The Southwest, the Southeast, the PAC 10, Big East, Atlantic Coast, etc.
Now, everything is out of WAC, excuse me, whack.
TCU is in the East. I guess Colorado is headed to the PAC 10, which now has 12 schools.
And we wonder why the college presidents can't get the BCS mess straight. Hell, they can't even find their own schools on a map.
