Hat's off to her

Some people are trying to cook up some heat on Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino for is treatment of a reporter at a press conference this week. The reporter showed up at the press conference wearing a Florida Gators hat.
Petrino answered her question then said simply, "that will be the last question I answer with that hat on."
The press conference was indoors so the reporter could've simply removed the hat and I would assume the coach would've answered another question from her.
Anyway, the reporter was fired from the company in Northwest Arkansas, which makes its money by covering Arkansas Razorback sports. The question, was the reporter wronged?
The answer - no.
There's an old saying, "know where your bread is buttered." If you get a job in Razorback territory covering the Razorbacks. You don't flaunt a Florida Gators hat to that job. It's not illegal but it is stupid, especially if you want to please your bosses.
The reporter is a Florida alum, who openly supports the Gators. That's fine. But, fact is, if she showed up at a Florida press conference sporting a Hog hat, Urban Meyer would've been pissed, too.
It's disrespectful. She knew it was disrespectful. That's why she did it.
I hope the reporter finds work soon. Hopefully she won't wear a Burger King crown to her interview at McDonalds.

By the way, I now have two blogs. This site will now be devoted to sports and stuff outside of Union County. It will be more of a national and international topic place.
If you want to keep with sports and events that happen in South Arkansas, please follow me to West Faulkner, which should be up and running now. That's westfaulkner.blogspot.com
Thanks.
